Research Services Open Office Hours - June 2026

Argon users are invited to attend open office hours hosted by the Campus Engagement Team of Research Services.

  • Date: Monday, June 22nd, 2026

  • Time: 2:00 - 3:30 pm (Central Time)

  • Location: Virtual through Microsoft Teams. Please use the Microsoft Teams link provided in our recent newsletter to join the session. If you have trouble finding the link, please contact us via ITS Help Desk ( its-helpdesk@uiowa.edu ) or the IT self-service portal.

Scope:

  • During office hours, Campus Engagement team members will provide general guidance on using Argon, including job scheduling, software installation, data transfer methods, and other high-performance computing topics.

  • We are unable to address complex issues, backend problems, or Argon policies during this session.

  • For complex questions or one-on-one support, please submit a ticket through the IT self-service portal to schedule dedicated time with the Argon support team.

  • For questions about other IT services, please submit a ticket through the IT self-service portal for the appropriate service.

What to Expect:

  • You are welcome to join and leave at any time during office hours.

  • Questions may be asked verbally or submitted via the Q&A feature in the meeting.

  • The virtual meeting may be limited to approximately 10 participants at a time. Participants will initially wait in a lobby and be admitted as space becomes available. Depending on demand, we may admit additional attendees.

  • While we hope to spend sufficient time with each attendee, each question may be limited to approximately 10 minutes, so that we can assist as many participants as possible. Depending on the number of participants, we may adjust this as needed.

  • Because office hours are open to all Argon users, we kindly ask attendees to be mindful of time and share the session courteously, so that everyone has an opportunity to engage.

  • Additional office hours will be scheduled and shared with all Argon users in future communications.
